Oconee County: A Great
Place to Call Home
Oconee County is that rare combination of natural beauty and perfect location that makes it an ideal place to call home.
The cities of Seneca, Walhalla, Westminster, and Clemson, South Carolina (used to be part of Oconee County until Lake Hartwell was formed) provide the spice and zest as well as the necessities of life.

A portion of Sumpter National Forest covers about a quarter of the county providing camping, hiking, hunting and other outdoor activities, all in a beautiful natural setting.

For culture, dining and shopping, (antique and boutique shops are plentiful) there is a great deal available in the cities of Seneca, Walhalla and Westminster and, of course, Clemson, SC is just down the road and offers all the advantages of a major university town. And there are wonderful less-traveled places to explore in the area: The Highlands just up the road in North Carolina offers charming antique and specialty shops—plus great golf. Helen, GA just 45 miles W-NW offers boutique shopping and interesting restaurants. And there’s Clayton GA, Anderson, SC, and Pendelton, SC with its historic downtown area and too many more to list.
